Home Once Owned By Accomplished Rocker On The Market In Vernon

VERNON, CT — The former home of a rocker that worked with an iconic band has gone on the market in Vernon.

The sprawling blue home at 492 Bolton Road went on the market earlier this week. The listing from agent Stephen Schipani and Reilly Real Estate was a bit cryptic as to who the rocker is, but on Thursday, Schipani revealed it was Jeff Sherman.

Sherman sat in with Lynyrd Skynyrd for one of its great releases — Street Survivors. It was released in 1977 and includes the eventual hits "That Smell" and "What's your Name."

Sherman played a number a instruments. He was also known for his solo and progressive work and as a founding member of the band Glass.

The home includes what was once a "soundproof" room that Shipani said was used for recording sessions. There's a bar on the lower level too, he said.
