CONNECTICUT — The 2020 election is heating up in Connecticut and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office. Eyes are primarily focused on the presidential election, but every U.S. House of Representatives seat is also up for election.
Tom McCormick, a West Hartford resident, is running for Connecticut's 1st Congressional District. The district covers the Hartford area as well as part of the northwest corner of Connecticut.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Larson and Faye will represent the corporations. I will represent the people.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I would point to my bringing a petition before the CT utilities commission to have the Millstone nuclear power plants removed from rates when they were closed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that saved rate payers tens of millions of dollars. I chaired a Sierra Club Chapter and served on the board of directors of several environmental organizations.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
I support Economic Democracy to decrease income and wealth disparities, Universal Healthcare, Debt Reduction, a Strong United Nations with implementation of the Universal Declaration of Rights, cleaning the Superfund sites and Equal Rights for all.
