Details, Timeline Of Snow, Ice And Rain For CT Over Next 2 Days
An Ice Storm Warning is in effect for parts of CT, while some areas are under an advisory and some portions will only see plain rain.
CONNECTICUT — It's a tale of two Connecticut's concerning the forecast for tonight, Monday and early Tuesday. A rare 'Ice Storm Warning' has been issued for northern parts of Litchfield County where an inch of snow and possibly three quarters of an inch of ice may accumulate.
And then southern Litchfield County, and all of Hartford, Tolland and Windham county are all under a Winter Weather Advisory for some snow and ice. The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Tuesday.
"Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations ranging from a trace to upwards of four tenths of an inch," the weather service says for northern Connecticut. "...Isolated power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute."

And Southern Connecticut? Likely just plain rain for the lower half of the state is expected.
"Clouds will increase through the day with a chance of light rain spreading in from the west late this afternoon into early this evening. A steadier rain develops tonight and continues through most of Monday before transitioning to a light rain or drizzle Monday night into Tuesday morning. Patchy freezing rain can not be ruled out late tonight into Monday across some of the higher elevations well north and west of NYC."

A cold rain for many. But in the hills, a long duration ice storm. Power outages, tree damage possible. Batteries in the flashlight and gas up the generator if you have one. pic.twitter.com/hDaI3eMa6c

Good morning! Increasing clouds & dry for the daylight hours today. A cold rain developing 4-10PM. Some freezing rain (ice) NW & NE as the temp drops overnight. I think Litchfield County & western Hartford County could get some rough icing. Also I-84 right near Mass. line. pic.twitter.com/1qegVzSC2d
