WEST HARTFORD, CT — A former supermarket is now a hug for coronavirus vaccines in West Hartford

The town of West Hartford and the West Hartford Bloomfield Health District Thursday opened its new regional vaccine clinic.

The former ShopRite on Kane Street, was vacant, but is now service as the clinic.

Wakefern, the retailer-owned cooperative and logistics, distribution and merchandising arm for ShopRite stores, offered the Kane Street site rent free for the vaccination efforts.

The 71,660 sq. foot store has been closed since Nov. 26, 2019.
