Gas Leak Discovered In Busy Area Of West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD — A gas leak in a busy area of West Hartford forced authorities to divert traffic away from the area late Thursday morning.

The leak was discovered shortly before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Ballard Drive and Albany Avenue, police said.

Fire crews were at the scene, as was a crew from Connecticut natural gas.

Area homes were evacuated as a precaution, police said.

No injuries were reported.
