Here's How Much Snow We'll Receive Tonight, Wednesday: CT Weather
The National Weather Service has released estimates for how much snow it believes CT will see, or in some cases won't see, late Tuesday.

CONNECTICUT — As of Sunday morning, it appeared that Connecticut was looking at accumulating snow late Tuesday and into Wednesday morning, but since Sunday evening those odds have grown long.
And as of Tuesday morning, the odds remain long. Connecticut is on the edge of a storm that is expected to largely miss the state. The closer you are to the immediate coast, the better the chance that you'll wake up to some snow on the ground, especially in New London County.
New London County, which is expected to be the closest to this offshore storm, may see up to 2 inches of snow accumulation before daybreak Wednesday. The rest of the state is looking at less than an inch of accumulation; and some areas, especially in northern Connecticut, may only see a dusting of snow at most.

But to show how close this storm is to Connecticut, areas of Long Island may see several inches of snow. So the storm is "this close" to having a real impact on us; but as of right now, all predictions are for this storm to largely miss us and stay south of Connecticut.
The National Weather Service says, "Much of the day should remain dry, with clouds increasing, lowering and thickening. High temperatures will be a few degrees above normal, ranging from the upper 30s to lower 40s.

"The low will eject off the mid-Atlantic coast this afternoon, passing south and east of Long Island tonight," the NWS says. "The tri-state area will be on the northern fringes of this low, bringing in chances for precipitation this evening and continuing overnight. The precipitation could start off as plain rain or a mix of rain and snow, but a quick changeover to snow is expected. Light snow will continue, with snow ending after midnight. Most areas will see a dusting or a coating of snow, while areas such as eastern Long Island and southeastern Connecticut could see 1 to 2 inches before daybreak Wednesday."
WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Quiet weather for the daytime today, with high temperatures in the 30s to low 40s. Lots of clouds and limited breaks of sunshine. Light snow is expected tonight starting around 8-9 p.m. Light snow will be ending around 4 a.m. I am not expecting big amounts at all! It looks like a dusting up to 2 inches. A flurry possible tomorrow, with chilly temperatures upper 30s to around 40 degrees. Colder on Thursday, with highs in the 20s to low 30s. Then, a big warm-up for the coming weekend with 60 degrees!"
Afternoon temperatures will rise into the low 40s today Keep an eye on the weather this evening as snowfall will be possible after 7pm tonight towards midnight. Most areas should receive less than 1 inch but areas along Long Island & parts of southern CT could see 1-2 inches. pic.twitter.com/kGz7VXGo6I

Looking good for much of the day today, but then light snow arrives tonight as a storm forms to our south. There may be a few slick roads tonight, but it's a quick-hitting storm that's brushing us, so amounts will be minor. We're talking a coating to an inch or two. @Fox61news pic.twitter.com/5yWpElkfIi
