Landmark West Hartford Restaurant Closes Its Doors
Prospect Cafe in West Hartford closed its doors; owners blamed the coronavirus pandemic.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — A landmark West Hartford restaurant closed its doors and the blame can go to the coronavirus.
Owners of Prospect Cafe at 345 Prospect Ave. made the announcement on the eatery's Facebook page Tuesday.
"After much consideration, we have decided to permanently close Prospect Cafe," the announcement said. "We had hoped to weather the Covid storm, but it has been relentless and uncertain."

The restaurant at the corner of Park Road and Prospect Avenue offered an eclectic menu prepared from fresh, local ingredients.
"We wish to thank our wonderful friends, loyal customers and outstanding staff for your support over the past several years," the owners said in the Facebook post. "Serving you has been a real pleasure. We wish you all the best, stay safe."

Prospect Cafe made a return to West Hartford in 2015 after closing two years earlier after 48 years in business.
