WEST HARTFORD, CT — A home in West Hartford was hit by lightning as a strong band of thunderstorms made its way through the area Monday morning.

The home was located on Gerthmere Drive, authorities said.

A small fire ensued on the first floor of the home, but it was quickly extinguished.
