Lunden Diamond Company to Close in West Hartford
Jeweler has been in town for 17 years, including the last 9 at its LaSalle Road location

After 17 years in West Hartford, including the last nine in its current location at 27 LaSalle Road, the retail portion of Lunden Diamond Company is going out of business.
Owner Jay Rinaldi said in an interview that his lease on the 1,000-square-foot space expired in October and the renewal rate was too expensive for him to continue long-term.
Rinaldi said that he extended his lease through January and that he is holding an inventory reduction sale until he closes the space.

Still, Rinaldi said that he plans on keeping his wholesale and manufacturing business open and already has a space on North Main Street continue those operations.
The current inventory that is at Lunden’s retail space on LaSalle is for sale “at a huge discount,” Rinaldi said.

For those who are concerned about what will happen to the store space once Lunden’s closes shop, Rinaldi said that he sold the store to another jeweler.
“This place has been a jeweler for 40 years,” he said.Get more local news delivered straight to your inbox. Sign up for free Patch newsletters and alerts.
