Meetings Scheduled On Making World A Classroom

People to People will explain overseas study programs.

If you’ve been thinking about hitting the road — the very long road — to overseas education, circle Sept. 27 on your calendar.

People to People Ambassador Programs is holding informational meetings Sept. 27 at the University of Hartford.

At 1 p.m., People to People will hold a program on, “The Wonders of the Canadian West.” At 3 p.m., the group will cover, “European Discovery.” Both meetings will be held in Gray Conference Center’s Wilde Auditorium.

The meetings will showcase:

· the certified state teachers who will be leading the area’s student travel program

· local student ambassadors who have previously traveled with People to People

· the benefits of student travel and how to gain an academic edge

· scholarships that are available to student ambassadors.

Since the 1960s, more than 500,000 people from around the world have traveled with People to People Ambassador Programs, according to the company, to help further global understanding through cross-cultural exchange.
