WEST HARTFORD, CT — Construction continues at the intersection of Park Road at Trout Brook Drive, as the contractor has paved the north side of Park and the intersection of Trout Brook. This area was paved a couple of inches low to accommodate a final course of pavement on Park Road over the full limits of the project later this summer. Motorists should use caution when driving through the project area, as there will be raised utility structures.

Park Road will remain closed to westbound traffic 24 hours a day between Quaker Lane South and the Interstate 84 ramps. Trout Brook Drive will be closed to southbound traffic 24 hours a day between Boulevard and Park. Trout Brook will also be closed to northbound traffic between White Avenue and Park. Eastbound traffic on Park will be able to turn left to travel north on Trout Brook or proceed straight, but will not be able to turn right.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the project area, seek alternate routes, and expect delays. Interchange 41 (South Main Street) and 44 (Prospect Avenue/Kane Street) are suggested alternatives. Signed detours will be in place and local access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained at all times. This detour is expected to be in place for 2-3 weeks.

The seventh and final phase of the roadway work will include the final pavement surface of Park Road over the entire limits of the project. This work is expected to occur around the end of August, and will occur at night to minimize traffic impacts. The remaining landscaping is expected to be installed in September and will bring the project to substantial completion.
