Local Financial Advisor, Jim Burns, has been awarded professional designation as a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®). This action was taken by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, a non-profit educational and professional association established in 1984.
The coveted RFC designation is presented to financial consultants who meet seven criteria: Education, Examination, Experience, Ethics, Financial Licensure, Conduct and Continuing Professional Education. The mission of the IARFC is: “To recognize world class financial consultants and empower them to make a transformational difference in the financial lives of the families and communities they serve.”
A Registered Financial Consultant must maintain very high professional and ethical standards, plus certify the completion of a minimum of 40 hours of relevant continuing education every two years. According to the Associations’s Trustee Chair, Dr. H. Stephen Bailey, MRFC®, “In a society and economy of rapid change, it is essential that a financial consultant be engaged in a continuous quest for knowledge and skills in order to properly serve the public. Our Association members are held to a strict Code of Ethics and commit to serving their clients in planning their financial future.”
