Parents It’s Dinnertime!
Do you have a regular dinnertime with your family? You should! And here's why.
Parents, dinnertime is so much more than just dinner, wouldn’t you agree? Research has shown that children who grow up to be successful, happy and well-adjusted in many instances had a childhood that consisted of having regular family dinnertime. During dinner, these children spent quality time together with their family, where they not only ate good nutritious and delightful food but also enjoyed their family’s company and learned a great deal through the discussions taking place at the table.
Since I am a high school history teacher, the statement above about productive dinners immediately makes me think about many of the prominent historical figures throughout the past. Like the dinnertime story above, many of our successful historical figures, such as, John F. Kennedy for one, had parents who would sit, eat, and talk with them at dinnertime. I think that we can all agree that John F. Kennedy is just one such example in a cornucopia of examples of people who have reached the pinnacle of success in particular fields with the aid of some great dinnertime conversations.
Robert Kiyosaki’s teachings from Rich Dad Poor Dad fame repeatedly says that the difference between the haves and have-nots are the conversations that the rich and elite are having at their dinner tables that the middle and poor classes are not having… Hmm… Interesting… Wouldn’t you agree?

So, how do we become better versions of ourselves that are able to help our children grow into better versions of themselves? I’d say dinnertime is a pretty good place to start this journey in creating that better version of ourselves and our children, as well as building a little family cohesiveness, wouldn’t you? So, let’s go break some bread, families!
Now, as my Granddaddy always said, “Go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us.” Remember to spend some dinners together as a family. As a matter of fact, spend as many meals together as a family as you can! And once again parents, thanks in advance for all that you do, and all that you will do…
