Parents We Are the Best Coaches!
We're there in the beginning. We're there in the end. We're always there. So we might as well learn how to make the most of it for our kids.
In our children’s lives we are the first ones to be there, and most likely the last ones to not be there. We are our children’s best coaches because we are their parents and we are always there for them. Furthermore, no one can love them as much as we do, no matter how well-intentioned they are.
We coach our kids on how to eat, walk and use the bathroom, as well as how to leave their safe home environment and go into the unknown of kindergarten. We coach our kids before, during and after their soccer games. During their games; some of us are coaching as cheering and supportive parents from the bleachers, and some of us as demanding coaches on the team’s sideline. All of us are coaching in the car before and after their games.
We are role models on how to successfully navigate this great big world. We are our kid’s paradigm. Thus, every one of us parents needs to keep striving to become that better and better role model that our kids will not only imitate but eventually emulate. If they do someday emulate us, and eventually even pass us out, then I’d say that we did a pretty good job at coaching them, wouldn’t you?

In essence, we coach our children to a better life by creating memories with them. In the future, when our children are at a crossroads, they will think back upon their lives and all of their memories that we helped create. The things we did with them and the memories we created with them will give them the strength to venture forward once again into the unknown. This will enable them to further grow just like they did when we brought them to their first day of kindergarten so many years ago.
Now, as my Granddaddy always said, “Go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us.” Remember that we are our children’s best coaches. And once again parents, thanks in advance for all that you do, and all that you will do…
