WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford officials announced Thursday that on-street, overnight parking will now be permitted through Nov. 30.

In March, 2020, West Hartford Town Manager Matt Hart suspended the town's ban on overnight parking to accommodate the influx of returning students, when the coronavirus pandemic forced colleges to close abruptly.

The suspension of the ban was to initially expire on July 31. Town leaders first extended the end-date to Sept. 30 and then to Nov. 30.

The parking ban, enforced between 2 and 5 a.m. will be reinstated from Dec. 1 through March 31, officials said. The premise is to allow public works crews to "safely clear snow, curb to curb, during their winter storm operations."
