West Hartford Twins Celebrate a Special 3rd Birthday

When West Hartford high school sweethearts Emily and Jim Cornacchio met they always imagined having children one day. What Emily and Jim didn’t know was how difficult the road would be to get there. At the age of 31, Emily was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that attacked her ovaries. Her doctor gave her the difficult news that she had already gone through menopause and that her chances of having a baby were 1 in a million.

Unable to use her own eggs to conceive a baby, Emily was fast-tracked to receiving a donor egg. Emily became pregnant but miscarried after 8 weeks. With their funds almost depleted and no fertility coverage offered by their insurance, Emily and Jim still needed an additional 5k-10k to pay for all the expenses related to the next embryo transfer. That’s when Emily discovered The Nest Egg Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Norwalk, CT that provides an opportunity for those struggling with infertility to receive access to treatment through financial grants. Emily applied for the grant and received it. All of their medical expenses for the next embryo transfer were covered. Emily’s beautiful twins, Hailey and Benjamin were born in August of 2017 and they just recently celebrated their 3rd birthday!
