West Hartford Firefighters Knock Down Small Residential Blaze

Call came in at 12:26 p.m. and no injuries were reported.

West Hartford firefighters knocked down a small electrical fire at the residence located at 55 Shepard Road on Saturday afternoon.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured while putting out the blaze, which was reported by neighbors who noticed smoke coming out of the outside vents at the house's ridge line at 12:26 p.m., according to Battalion Shift Commander John Deckers.

Deckers credited the quick response of firefighters for the limited damage, which was contained to the point of origin - an upstairs bathroom ceiling; the first engine was on scene within four minutes.
