West Hartford Group Holds Own Memorial Day Parade After Official Event Canceled
A small group of supporters didn't let the decision to cancel the official Memorial Day Parade stop them from holding their own march.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — While the threat of hazardous weather led to the cancellation of West Hartford’s official Memorial Day Parade on Monday morning, a group of veterans and supporters held their own march down to the Connecticut Veterans Memorial, according to We-Ha.com.
We-Ha reports the organizers of the march weren’t protesting the town’s decision to cancel the official parade, but to ensure that the fallen West Hartford veterans were honored.
The march was organized by Gerry Aldrich, a Vietnam era veteran, and began at the intersection of Woodrow and Farmington Avenue where the traditional parade kicks off, according to We-Ha.
