Last week we asked: "What Was This Used For?" and five different people — Lew Block, Kevin Larkin, Robin Lindemann, Bob Cunningham, and Tracey Wilson — all guessed correctly that it was a watering trough for horses.
Lew Block was the first to chime in with "I believe that is a horse watering trough."

The official answer from the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is: "This was a watering trough that was used to help cool the horses. This one was located across from Town Hall for many years."
