Last week's question was: "What Was This Celebration For?" and although some people were heard around town discussing the answer, only one person posted a comment. "Jim Shea Day - March 2002," guessed commenter-extraordinaire Rick Liftig.

You're absolutely correct Rick! The official answer from the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is: "In March of 2002 the town celebrated an Olympic gold athlete who had lived in town until he was 20 years old. A parade to honor Jim Shea went through the town center and ended with ceremonies behind the Town Hall. Shea attended Sedgwick Middle School and Conard High School."
