West Hartford Man Dies When Car Falls on Him

Accident occurred in his own garage.

A 72-year-old West Hartford man was pronounced dead at his home Sunday afternoon, apparently caused by a vehicle he was repairing falling on him.

According to West Hartford Police, Kenneth Wilson, of 77 Mohawk Dr., appeared to be working on the exhaust system of a vehicle in the garage of his residence. Police said that it appears that the jack which was holding the vehicle failed, and the car fell on him.

Wilson was discovered by his wife, Linda Wilson, who called police at 12:01 p.m. Sunday.

According to Det. Sgt. Chris Chappell of the West Hartford Police, Wilson's death appears to have been accidental; however, that cannot be officially confirmed until the autopsy results are received.

The investigation is ongoing, Chappell said.
