West Hartford Police Net 6 DUIs in 4 Days

Four of them were in one night.

In the past week, West Hartford Police made 49 arrests for a variety of charges — six of them were for DUI. Information about each arrest follows:

A 28-year-old West Hartford woman was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence at 2:48 a.m. on May 25.

Police said the woman, Ilyssa A. Felber, was pulled over on Trout Brook Drive for failing to obey a traffic control signal. Her bond was set at $500 and she is due in court June 5.

A 23-year-old New Britain man was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence at 2:04 a.m. on May 25.

Police said the man, Jose Luis Diaz, was arrested at a DUI checkpoint. His bond was set at $500 and he is due in court June 5.

A 22-year-old Wethersfield man was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence at 1:37 a.m. on May 25.

Police said the man, Patrick Kevin Fern, was pulled over at a DUI checkpoint on Park Road near the Interstate 84 ramp. His bond was set at $500 and he is due in court June 5.

A 31-year-old Middletown resident was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence at 12:50 a.m. on May 25.

Police said the woman, Christine Long, was arrested for DUI at a "Click It or Ticket" checkpoint on I-84. She was also charged with failure to carry an insurance card.

Her bond was set at $500 and she is due in court June 5.

A 20-year-old West Hartford man was arrested for operating under the influence after he allegedly crashed his car into a utility pole at the intersection of Hunter Drive and Beechtree Lane.

The man, Thomas R. Balesano, was charged at 1:45 a.m. on May 24 with OUI,  traveling too fast for road conditions, evading responsibilty and driving in the right hand lane 

His bond was set at $500 and he is due in court June 5.

A 27-year-old West Hartford woman was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence at 11:07 p.m. on May 22.

Police said the woman, Jessica L. Czajka, was pulled over for making a restricted turn. In addition to OUI, she was charged with intefering with an officer.

Her bond was set at $500 and she is due in court June 6.
