
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town of West Hartford is announcing the formation of the West Hartford Community Emergency Response Team, commonly known as CERT.
A CERT program is made up of individuals who want to volunteer to assist during emergency situations and want to better prepare themselves and their community to deal with emergencies.
The program educates individuals about preparing for disasters and trains them in basic disaster response skills. CERT members promote emergency preparedness and give critical support to first responders in emergencies. CERT also assists the community during town wide events or special occasions.

The team is looking for interested individuals that would like to participate in the program. The team is open to anyone at least 18 years of age who live, study or work in West Hartford.
