West Hartford Woman Holds World Record for Climbing World’s Highest Mountain

She said she plans to continue climbing the mountain and furthering her count.

WEST HARTFORD, CT – A local woman holds the world record for climbing Mount Everest, Fox 61 reported.

Lhakpa Sherpa, 43, holds the record for women climbers, having climbed the highest mountain in the world seven times, according to Fox 61. She is also a single mother who washes dishes at Whole Foods.

Sherpa recently achieved this record in May, for which she was given a medal by the government of Nepal, Fox 61 reported. She said she plans to continue climbing the mountain and furthering her count.
