24-Year-Old Crystal Meth Maker Arrested, Found with 26+ Ounces of Meth and 577 Xanax Pills

It played out like a scene out of "Breaking Bad," but for an Easton man accused of making crystal meth, the charges are real.

EASTON, CT– A 24-year-old Easton man was arrested Monday after being caught with 26.59 ounces of crystal meth and 577 Xanax pills, according to WTNH. The arrest comes just two weeks after the man was caught with marijuana and turned himself into police on an active warrant for failing to appear in court.

Cavan Devine, 24, was arrested on Nov. 11 for operating a motor vehicle without a license and failing to return his license, police said. Court records show he was also arrested on Nov. 15 for possession of less that half an ounce of cannabis, use of drug paraphernalia and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest.

Police say Devine was arrested Monday as well, this time for possession of 26.59 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 577 Xanax pills, packaging information, a cellphone and computer from a room he was renting in the unit block of Silver Hill Road, WTNH reported. Police say the crystal meth is valued at more than $50,000 and the pills are valued at more than $10,000, making this one of the largest seizures of crystal meth in the area, the report said.
