Attempted Break-In & Missing 3-Year-Old On Redding Police Blotter
A report of a missing 3-year-old and an attempted breaking-and-entering were at the top of the Redding Police PD's blotter for the week.
REDDING, CT — A report of a missing 3-year-old and an attempted breaking-and-entering were at the top of the Redding Police Department's blotter for the week.
On Wednesday, police issued a warning to a driver whom they say rear-ended another vehicle that had stopped to make a left turn at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike (Route 58) and Meeker Hill Road. No injuries were reported.
Police handed out another warning to a driver on Friday whom they had been driving westbound on Gallows Hill Road, made a left turn out into Route 53, and then struck another vehicle moving southbound. No injuries were reported.

The owner of Pine Tree Garage on Black Rock Turnpike got the police involved after they say he discovered that someone had broken the front window and had attempted to enter. The owner contacted police after he had arrived at the garage at 6:50 in the morning on Thursday. Police investigated and reported that no one made it inside, and nothing was stolen.
On Sunday, the police received a call from a Dayton Road mother who was unable to find her 3-year-old son. After a brief search and a short time later, the child was found hiding inside the home.

Police have left open their investigation of a fraud and identity theft reported by a Huckleberry Road resident, who complained to them that someone attempted to get an automobile loan at T.D Bank using the resident's name.
