Our local bear population is coming out of hibernation and now is the time to bring your bird feeders inside; bears are very drawn to birdfeeders at this time of year. Also make sure to keep your garbage inside with a closed door if possible.
If you see a bear while you are outside retreat slowly into your house, if you run into one make yourself look bigger, arms over your head yell and scream at them. Air horns work well as do loud whistles, but the best thing to do is try to avoid them, period!

If you see a bear, please contact Mark at his office at 203-222-2642 to report the sighting and send pictures if you can.
Coyotes are also extremely active; please make sure to watch out for your pets especially in the early morning, early evening and at night. Small dogs should be kept on a leash.
