Coach to Close, New Retailer to Open in Downtown Westport
Coach has been next to Oscar's Deli for 10 years and was located next to Westport Pizza for an additional 10 years prior to opening in its current location.
After a 20-year run, Coach will close its doors in Westport, according to property owner Lee Papageorge.
The handbag and accessory store will have to be out on the last day of April so Papageorge’s new tenants can move in. Madewell, a company owned by JCREW, will take Coach's place at 155 Main Street, Papageorge. Construction on the new store will begin May 1 and should be complete within three months, he said.
JCREW and Co. already has the permits to demolish the walls and begin construction, he said. The company plans to rip up the current tiles and add wood floors, Papageorge said.
