Connecticut Beach Water Quality: Two Beaches Are Closed

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has updated its water quality report for Connecticut's swimming holes.

CONNECTICUT — The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has updated its water quality report for Connecticut's swimming holes, and two are off limits.

Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret is closed for maintenance, and Rocky Neck State Park closed pending the results of water testing. Those findings are expected to be released Wednesday afternoon.

The Department of Public Health Lab tests water samples from Connecticut beaches each week for the presence of certain indicator bacteria.
