Ex-Easton Man Enters Plea For Meth And Xanax Possession
Police say the man had 744 grams of methamphetamine and over 500 Xanax pills.

EASTON, CT — A former Easton resident faces up to 40 years in prison after he plead guilty to possessing over 700 grams of Methamphetamine and over 500 Xanax pills. The U.S. Attorney's office announced Monday that Cavan Devine, 25, formerly of Easton, waived his right to be indicted and plead guilty to one count of possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and a quantity of Xanax.
Devine was arrested in December with for possession of 26.59 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 577 Xanax pills, packaging information, a cellphone and computer from a room he was renting in the unit block of Silver Hill Road. Police say the crystal meth is valued at more than $50,000 and the pills are valued at more than $10,000, making this one of the largest seizures of crystal meth in the area.
Easton police brought the narcotics to Newtown Police, who said they tested positive for crystal meth. Devine's arrest came just two weeks after the man was caught with marijuana and turned himself into police on an active warrant for failing to appear in court.
