High Winds Cause Power Outages in Area

REDDING, CT -- High winds overnight have knocked down trees and dropped branches throughout the area, leaving many without power. United Illuminating customers were worst hit. At 7:00 a.m., thousands in Stratford and Bridgeport were still without power. Some Eversource customers in New Milford, Wilton, Newtown and Redding are also without power at this time.
