JBWA Players of the Week
JBWA (Joel Barlow, Weston, Abbott Tech) Hockey Booster Club players of the week.
The JBWA hockey team begins its season this week. Each week the JBWA hockey booster club with feature three of its athletes as the JBWA Players of the Week.
Team Captain Dante Esposito
Position: Center
Class: Senior
High School: Weston
Dante started skating at age 3 and took up hockey shortly after. At age 6, teammates called him The Snowman because he left the ice-covered in snow from diving to block shots every game. He has been playing the “sacrifice your body” game ever since. Starting Center at hockey isn’t the only time he spends in the middle of the playing surface — he also plays the center of the diamond as a pitcher on the Weston HS Varsity team.

Kai Smith
Position: Forward
Class: Sophomore
High School: Joel Barlow
This is Kai's first year on the JBWA hockey team. Kai has been playing hockey for eight years on various teams in Connecticut. This fall, he played for the West Haven U16 Midgets American team.

Spencer Thomas
Position: Forward
Class: Sophomore
High School: Joel Barlow
Spencer played for the Wonderland Wizards for seven years. Freshman year, he played for the Hartford Junior Wolfpack in Cromwell. He was selected for the U14 National Development camp. Spencer is a mentor for Storm Hockey, where he helps people of all ages with special needs learn to play hockey.
