Man Charged with Burglary, Larceny in Easton

A warrant was served in Bridgeport.

Francisco Mendez, 27, of Meriden was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespass, fifth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny in court in Bridgeport on March 21.

According to police, Mendez allegedly committed the crimes in Easton in September 2012. 

He was held on two separate $50,000 bonds, which he was unable to post, so remained in custody, police said.

On March 20, a High Ridge Road resident reported to police he received a call telling him he won $850,000 but needed to pay a one percent commission first.
