Eversource is in town and evaluating damage, but it will take some time given scope of impact. We finally started to receive crews from Eversource and we should see more assets as we move forward.

Eversource will be working through tonight along with Weston DPW to open as many roads as possible. For tomorrow, we plan to allow seniors into the Senior Center to charge their devices etc (thanks Wendy and Allison). We will also be evaluating whether we can safely utilize either the senior center or high school for the public on Friday.

Our primary focus for the the next 24-36 hour operational period is to ensure Eversource is significantly increasing the number of resources in town and clearing roads/ restoring power. Please be patient and use extreme caution when traveling. We will update you as the situation evolves, but please understand we are also operating under extremely challenging conditions."

Hurricane Isaias Update/Road Closures

Unfortunately, Isaias has hit us much harder than was anticipated. At this time we have nearly 100 blockages due to damage. There is an extensive amount of damage to the utility infrastructure and this will be a multiple day recovery. Currently, 92% of Weston is without power. We are in the process of conducting a preliminary damage assessment and will update accordingly. For reference I have included a list of blockages for you to view. Please note that this list is not 100% complete and is updated continuously. The EOC is open and functional and will remain so for the duration of the storm response. I have been in contact with our Eversource liaison multiple times and will continue to communicate with them directly. Please do not call 911 to report power outages as we are inundated with emergency calls and responding accordingly. We hope you are all safe and appreciate your patience and cooperation.
