Obituary: John E. (Jack) Sundlof Sr, 86, Of Redding

One of Jack's passions in life was being a Firefighter at the Georgetown Volunteer Fire House.

REDDING, CT — John E. (Jack) Sundlof Sr, 86, passed away at his home in Redding. Jack was born in Danbury, to the late John H. and Elsie (Koltz) Sundlof. Jack grew up in Georgetown, as a teen he worked at the Georgetown Market for Five years. and was a graduate of Danbury High School, class of 1952. Mr. Sundlof was also employed for 35 years with Perkin Elmer in the Optical Dept.

He was the loving husband of the late Marian (Archiere) Sundlof. Jack & Marian married in July of 1957. They settled down in Redding in 1961.

One of Jack’s passions in life was being a Firefighter at the Georgetown Volunteer Fire House. He was a lifetime member and the Fire Chief there for years, from 1979 to 1984. In his spare time Jack loved to travel with his family, he enjoyed watching auto racing, and was an avid “Mets'' fan, and loved spending time with his beloved Cat, “Ladle.”

Jack is survived by his children: Irene F. Lawrenia and her husband Peter of Danbury, John E. Sundlof Jr of Redding, April I. Sundlof of Monroe, and Craig A. Sundlof of Redding. Jack also has four grandchildren: Peter Lawrenia and wife Alyson, Brian Lawrenia, John E. Sundlof III and Vanessa Pagan, also three beautiful great grandchildren: Makayla, Aiden, and Dylan Lawrenia
In addition, he is survived by a large extended family, Patrick Archiere Sr, Donna Conway, Rosanne Dachenhausen, and Danny Archiere plus several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church St. Georgetown (Wilton) follow by graveside services at 12 noon in St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave. Ext. Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital and the Georgetown Vol Fire Company, PO Box 544, Georgetown Ct,06829.
