Pole Fight

Have you received a certified mail package from telecommunications company such as Verizon or AT&T specifically that they will be upgrading a utility pole to include more power and several antennas called small cell antennas (5G) for short?

Will you be ok when they take a regular utility pole and turn it into a tower facing your home about 35-50 feet away? I'm sharing these images since many people do not understand what is being attached such as small cell antennas that radiate pulse-modulated microwave radiation. The word "small" makes them think it is safe. In the past, these technologies were not as close as a utility pole in your neighborhood. How many of us would walk our pets or jog under a cellular tower? None of us because even with our limited education of wireless technology we know not to hang out under or around a tower but the Connecticut government sees no problem approving them in your front or back yards.

If you don't want these in your back yard, demand a special session to fix the Connecticut 4G/5G/6G or whatever G they are dreaming up that your tax dollars will be funding enriching telecom. Demand that HB6442 be rescinded -- how can legislators pass something they didn't read or if they read it they didn't understand. FYI... according to PURA (Public Utility Regulatory Authority) and the even the CT Siting Council -- they don't reject on the basis that it could harm your babies, children, environment or destroy your property values. They simply just rubber stamp them. Also there is NO monitoring of the emissions - yes toxic harmful radiation emissions.

If you did fight a small cell application and won - please let me know. If you get one off these packages in the mail, know you can and should fight them. You have a right to quiet enjoyment of your property and safe from harmful emissions.

This picture of pole in Stamford is being planned for conversion to a 3 antenna 5G beaming tower and adjacent home owners were notified. My advice is don't give up - your quality of life depends on it and your property value will be reduced at minimum by 20% if you give in.

Actions: Demand a special session to address the flaws in CT around the 5G and small cell deployment. On June 9th, the Senate passed the bill HB6442 without regard to safety. This bill and the previous 5G acceleration bill must be modified to address protection of life and property. Families receiving these notices should not have to hire a lawyer because CT has bad laws with NO Consumer protection or consumer rights.
