Police are chasing down one case of identity theft, and another of what is being described as attempted fraud, in Redding.

REDDING, CT — Police are chasing down one case of identity theft, and another of what is being described as attempted fraud.

Police are investigating a Jan. 21 complaint from a Limekiln Road resident that someone has stolen his identity, and had used his Well Fargo debit card around 40 times. As of the middle of last week, all but 12 purchases had been reimbursed.

A Fire Hill Road resident working on his computer told police on Jan.23 that he received an instant message saying that "there was some kind of problem with it."
