Police Seize 65 Goats From Redding Residence

The state Department of Agriculture seized around 65 goats from a property in Redding.

REDDING, CT — The state Department of Agriculture seized 65 goats from a property in Redding, shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The Redding Police Department assisted the state animal control officers in the roundup at the Burton residence at 147 Cross Highway, Chief Mark O'Donnell confirmed.

In July of last year, News 12 Connecticut reported that Redding Selectman Michael Thompson had issued a statement saying the town was "taking all necessary legal action to enforce compliance with its zoning regulations" as relates to the Cross Highway property.
