Redding Library, League of Women Voters, Spool Voting Rights Film

"Let the People Decide" chronicles the struggle from the civil rights movement through the present day.

REDDING, CT — The League of Women Voters and the Mark Twain Library will be presenting a film on the history of the voting rights fight in the U.S.

"Let the People Decide" chronicles the struggle from the civil rights movement through the present day.

"The story connects the dots across the decades to show how what the nation is going through in today's fractured political environment was not sprung from a vacuum, but has been a continuous struggle over time," according to a news release.

A question-and-answer session with Gavin Guerra, the film's director, will follow immediately after the screening.

The film, part of the library's Big Picture Series, is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Reservations may be made online, or at the library. Call 203-938-2545 for more information.
