Traffic accidents, more traffic accidents, and a larceny charge...

REDDING, CT — Police Chief Mark O'Donnell has reported the following police activity in town during the latter half of August:

Aug. 17 / Motor Vehicle Theft - Peaceable Street
A Peaceable Street resident reported that her unlocked 2018 Audi S-5 was stolen from the driveway sometime overnight.
The vehicle was recovered by Bridgeport P.D. on 8-18-20

Aug. 17 /I.D. Theft-Fraud - Marchant Road
The complainant discovered during a credit check, someone fraudulently obtained in her name, mortgage applications, auto loans, new lines of credit and a Verizon inquiry.

Aug. 17 / Motor Vehicle Accident - Route 7
Report of a one vehicle accident with no injuries on Route 7.
The driver of the vehicle was moving northbound on Route 7, lost control on a curve and came to rest off into the northern shoulder of the roadway on the front lawn of Empire Fence.

Aug. 18 / Motor Vehicle Accident - Main Street (Uncle Leo's Parking Lot )
Report of a two vehicle accident on Main Street, no injuries.
Vehicle # 1 backed into Vehicle #2 causing minor damage.

Aug. 20 / Motor Vehicle Accident - Pine Tree Road, no injuries
Report of a vehicle running another vehicle off the road into a ditch, on a very narrow section of Pine Tree Road. no injuries

Aug. 20 / Motor Vehicle Accident - Simpaug Turnpike / Picketts Ridge Road, no injuries.
Report of a one vehicle accident into a guardrail, on Simpaug Turnpike / Picketts Ridge Road.

Aug. 24 / Larceny - Redding Road (Rt.53)
There was a report of a larceny at a residence, there were no further details available at the time of this release.

Aug. 25 / Missing Person - Poverty Hollow Road area
Report of a missing person with special needs in a wooded area off of Poverty Hollow Road. After a little over an hour search the person was located. Chief O'Donnell would like to thank Newtown and Easton Police Departments for assisting in the search.

Aug. 26 / Motor Vehicle Accident no injury - Route 58
Report of a two vehicle "Fender Bender" on Route 58 / Cross Highway

Aug. 26 / Motor Vehicle Accident no injury - Old Mill Road
Vehicle # 1 (car) backed into Vehicle #2 (motorcycle) knocking it over and damaging the mirror.

Aug. 26 / Theft from a Motor Vehicle - Route 7
Report of a theft of $250 dollars from an unlocked vehicle of a guest at the Days Inn.

Aug. 27 / Theft from a Motor Vehicle - Chalburn Road
Report of a vehicle (van) being entered, while parked in a driveway on Chalburn Road.
The complainant advised that there didn't appear to be anything missing from the vehicle.

Aug. 27 / Motor Vehicle Accident no injury - Route 53
Report of a two vehicle accident on Route 53 / Great Pasture Road
There were no further details available at the time of this release.

Aug. 28 / Motor Vehicle Accident with reported injuries - Route 58
Report of a vehicle vs tree accident, with injuries. The caller further reported that the vehicle was on fire and that someone had assisted the operator on getting out of the vehicle.
There were no further details available at the time of this release.

Aug. 28 / Found Property - Route 58 / Cross Highway.
A plastic carrying case containing a nail gun was found in the roadway on Route 58 at the intersection of Cross Highway. The case has some identifying markings on it.
