Redding Police Investigate Series Of Disturbances
Fireworks, fistfights, and an overly loud football fan were among the disturbances investigated by the Redding Police last week.
REDDING, CT — During the last full week of September, police were called upon to investigate a series of disturbances, an attempted credit card theft, and the crash of a vehicle that turned out to be stolen.
On Thursday, residents reported fireworks being shot off on Great Meadow Road, and on Saturday police received a report about a noisy neighbor on Putnam Park Road. In both cases, there was nothing to see, or hear, when the officers arrived on the scene. Police returned to Great Meadow Road on Monday to investigate another reported disturbance, and learned it was someone yelling to celebrate a football team scoring a touchdown.
Police say a road rage incident on Route 57 in Weston escalated into a fistfight at the intersection with Route 107 in Redding on Sunday. The fight was over when they arrived, according to police, and neither party was interested in pressing charges.
