Redding Police Investigate Series of Larcenies

Among the reports was one from a resident who said that thieves posed as moving company employees and stole their belongings.

REDDING, CT — During the last full week of November, police were called upon to investigate a series of larcenies in town.

Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief at the Georgetown Bible Church on North Main Street on Nov. 25. Someone entered through an unlocked window and painted "Sing unto God" onto an organ in red, according to police. There was no other damage or items taken from the church. A White Birch Road resident reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle in their driveway on Nov. 23 and stole a wallet containing $1,000, a $500 radar detector and a Stinger rechargeable flashlight worth $200. On Nov. 27, an Umpawaug Road resident reported that someone smashed out the passenger side front window of their vehice and stole a $50 turquoise-colored Tote bag containing various paperwork. Anyone with any more information is urged to contact Sergeant Quinn at 203-938-3400.
