Redding Selectmen Will Discuss Police Staffing Tonight

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Redding Community Center.

Earlier this year, 87 Redding voters okayed the addition of two new police officers at a special town meeting. Since then, some Redding residents have been outspoken in their disapproval of that vote, claiming the town doesn't need more police.

Alexander Gray went as far as creating an online petition against the expansion of the department, which had 214 signatures as of Sunday afternoon.

The Redding Board of Selectmen is scheduled to hear a presentation on the police department's budget and staffing at its regular meeting tonight. The meeting has been moved to the Redding Community Center and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
