Reminder: Redding Town Meeting is Tonight

It takes place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the community center.

Redding voters are set to weigh in tonight on whether to approve various projects totalling $891,000.

A town meeting will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Redding Community Center to determine the following:

  • Whether to approve the funding of $187,619.71 for actual and estimated labor costs at the police department through June 21 through the unassigned fund balance
  • Whether to approve the funding of $135,000 for security upgrades at Redding Elementary School and John Read Middle School from the capital nonrecurring account
  • Whether to approve the funding of $34,385 for lighting upgrades at the elementary school through the unassigned fund balance

Voters will also decide whether to approve the following projects to be funded by short-term borrowing, pending long-term financing:

  • $45,000 for improvements at the elementary school playground
  • $165,000 for completing the bathroom upgrading project at the elementary school
  • $45,000 for repairing the roof at John Read Middle School
  • $60,000 to renovate the woodshop at the middle school for use as a combined tech room
  • $135,000 for completing the bathroom upgrading project at the middle school
  • $84,000 for the first phase of a locker replacement project at the middle school

The previous six items will be voted on separately. 

Voters will also decide whether the town should adopt Costa Lane as a town road.
