Town Of Weston Publishes Coronavirus Update For April 9

Connecticut is currently allowing all residents over the age of 16 to be vaccinated.

Good afternoon. It is Friday, April 9, 2021 and this is First Selectman Christopher Spaulding with a coronavirus update.

As of April 8, 2021 we have had 32 new positive COVID test results, of Weston residents since our last outreach two weeks ago on March 26, 2021. http://wwhd.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Web-update-April-08-2021.pdf

To find a vaccine provider near you please visit the CT.gov Vaccine Portal or to register for an appointment on the telephone, call Connecticut’s COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Assist Line at 877-918-2224.

If you haven’t done so already, consider signing up for the COVID CT Alert App – Connecticut’s contact tracing program. Instructions on how to sign up are here

Residents should also report positive cases directly to the Westport/Weston Health Department http://wwhd.org/ so contact tracing can be started immediately in order to contain the spread of the virus. The office line is 203 227 9571.

As a reminder COVID testing is available at area hospitals and urgent care facilities as well as at St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Facility in Bridgeport at 700 Main Street. You can call to book an appointment at 833 621 0600. No prescription is required. See here for more details

A Travel advisory is no longer in effect for Connecticut; however the CDC still does not recommend travel at this time. If you do decide to travel the CDC recommends “knowing your travel risk” see here for guidance
