Week 5 JBWA Players of the Week

Each week, the JBWA hockey booster club features three of its athletes as the JBWA Players of the Week.

Tommy Berry

Position: Center
Class: Sophomore
School: Joel Barlow High School
Height/Weight: 5’7”, 140lbs
Tommy grew up around hockey, traveling from rink to rink watching his brothers play hockey. He started to play hockey when at the squirt level with the CT Barons/Roughriders. This is Tommy's second year with JBWA. In the off-season, he enjoys playing golf at the Redding Country Club.

Duncan Craine

Position: Defense

Class: Junior

School: Weston High School

Favorite NHL Team: NJ Devils

Duncan has been skating since he was 3 and played for the Ridgefield Lions starting as a Mite and graduating as co-captain of Bantam AA. He returns for his 2nd year with the Knights after winning last season’s award for Rookie of the Year. In addition to hockey (and school), Duncan plays lacrosse for Weston High School, races his Laser out of Cedar Point Yacht Club, and programs games and robots in his spare time.

Will Mauro

Position: Right Wing

Class: Senior

High School: Joel Barlow

Will started his hockey career as a Freshman member of the last Joel Barlow Falcons team. He has also played 2 enjoyable seasons for the River Hawks in Shelton. He appreciates all the hard work the JBWA Coaches, Scott Powell, and Eddie LeMaire have put into his development, and he has also benefited from the support and leadership from many great teammates over the years. Will’s hobbies include playing the saxophone, watching horror movies, and playing with his dog, Sonny. He is also learning to make the perfect cheesesteak at Jersey Mike’s in Ridgefield. Will is in the process of selecting his college in the Fall, where he plans to study Communications and Marine Biology.
