Weston Basketball Falls in Class M Final

The Trojans' Cinderella season came to an end Friday night.

The Weston Boys Basketball Team fell seven points short of a state title.

On Friday, by a score of 52-45, the Trojans lost to Valley Regional in the Class M Championship Game at Mohegan Sun Arena, according to the Norwalk Hour. The Trojans, ranked 23rd, finished the regular season at 10-10 and surprised many to advance as far as they did.

Coached by Mike Hvizdo—who was let go in February amidst controversy only to ultimately be rehired after a plethora of parents voiced their support for him—the Trojans led at halftime but were unable to overcome a third quarter surge by their opponents, according to The Hour.
