WESTON, CT — Firefighters extinguished a fire in the woods on Wednesday.

The Weston Volunteer Fire Department responded to Smith Ridge Road to tackle the blaze. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it spread.

The fire department reminded residents on social media that open burning is not allowed in town, due to the danger of the fire spreading out of control.
