Weston's 4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Canceled

Weston's traditional Fourth of July fireworks may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate Independence Day.

WESTON, CT — Although coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, many Independence Day celebrations have once again been canceled, modified or will be held virtually due to the pandemic.

Weston’s fireworks may have been canceled, but there are still celebrations and fireworks to be found in some nearby towns.

On July 3, in Fairfield, the Grucci Firework Show will ignite just after dark from a barge off of Long Island Sound. The show can be easily seen from Fairfield's Penfield and Jennings Beaches. Beach parking lots can be accessed either with a Season Beach Sticker or by purchasing a Daily Pass for $50 per vehicle (credit card only). Daily Passes will be limited to the first 300 vehicles at Jennings Beach and 100 vehicles at Penfield Beach. A daily parking fee will also be charged to park at the Ash Creek Open Space Parking Lot the day of the fireworks. There's more information at the Town of Fairfield website.

On July 5, the Tiger Hollow Stadium gates open at 6 p.m. for "Ridgefield’s Family Firework Celebration." The pyrotechnics will begin at dusk.

Tiger Hollow Stadium is at Ridgefield High School, 700 North Salem Road. Parking will be available at the high school, as well as at Barlow Mountain and Scotland Elementary Schools. Shuttle buses will be provided from the two elementary schools. Attendees should have their printed order confirmation or ticket on their dashboard and ready at the gate. Tickets are $20 per car, and available online here. Rain date is July 6. More information is available on the Patch Calendar and the town website.
