When Will Power Be Restored In Easton?
The first selectman has called upon state legislators to lean on United Illuminating to get the job done faster.

EASTON, CT — The cleanup following the devastation left in the wake of Tropical Storm Isaias is being complicated by the number of downed trees wrapped in power lines, according to First Selectman David Bindelglass. That meant that local DPW workers needed to wait for the assistance of technicians from United Illuminating before they could be cleared.
Nevertheless, the restoration of power which began Wednesday night is accelerating.
"UI tells us that most of the power will be back by Saturday and all of it by Monday night," Bindelglass posted to the town website.

The first selectman said he has called upon State Representative Anne Hughes, State Senator Tony Hwang, and Congressman Jim Himes to push UI to get the job done faster.
"The responsiveness of utilities in restoring service in this state after any storm has been a longstanding problem,"Bindelglass said. "The Governor’s Office is again investigating their actions."
